It's been a little while...

Long time no blog! HA! I just had to say it. Things have been busy as usual at the Trebisky household. So I need to play catch up on our last few weeks! We had a wonderful Halloween! I still can't believe how the weather agreed with us that night. Dave stayed back with CJ and passed out candy (and started the bonfire...) while I took Ellie Trick Or Treating with Lori, Olivia, Kristen & Addy. When we got back we had a houseful! Kim & Rob came over along with Cathy & Scott! Joe and Jenny stopped by with Rachel for a little bit too! All of the kiddies looked adorable! O was a ladybug and Addy was a High School Musical cheerleader. Ellie was just dressed in her pumpkin onsie and I carried her in the Snugli around the neighborhood. I had to laugh because we came home with as much candy as I hoped to pass out! Oh well - Mom and Dad got some good eats! The funniest part of the night is how Dave convinced Addison that anything that looked like a Milky Way was bad for her. She believed him and picked them all out to give to Dave. LOL!!

So now we are 2 weeks into November! All the Halloween decorations have been put away and we pulled out the Pilgrims and turkeys. Dave is still busy with school but is nearing the end of his longest semester ever!! He has his practicum - which is working 24 hours a week for free. It's really learning from a nurse, but it's unpaid. Plus his normal 36 hour work week - things are hectic. He only has one more day left of his practicum and then things slow down until January. Then the countdown begins - 16 weeks he will be done and be able to take his nursing exam! I am sure I will be throwing a huge party to congratulate him this summer!

We also found out we had what they call a "confused flour bug" - and I shouldn't say "had"since it seems like they never go away. I spent a whole vacation day pulling everything out of my cupboards and bleaching. Then I read that these things might take time to go away. They are very little black bugs that come in from something at the store. I guess they have distroyed flour mills before. All I know is that now EVERYTHING from cereal and oatmeal and flour and breadcrumbs go into plastic containers. I had to throw out all my baking goods! UGH!

This Saturday Lori and I are taking Ellie and O to get pictures with Santa at JC Penny's and then I am going to come home to work on pumpkin rolls! Dave found 3 cans of pumpkin and asked when I was making my famous (ok - I like to think that they are famous...) pumpkin rolls. My boss Al also mentioned baking something to bring in too! So I am going to try to knock out a few on Saturday. Sunday we are taking Grandma T to the Fabulous Food Show for her birthday and then it's Kim's birthday dinner! Dave is off Sunday so it will be an extra special weekend for me and Ellie!

Thanksgiving is right around the corner and it is Dave's Holiday to work at the hospital. But we will give up Thanksgiving for him to be home for Ellie's first Christmas! Ellie and I will spend the afternoon at Grandma Mare's house! Grandpa Mike will be home for the Holiday too! Of course we will wake up and watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade and do the traditional take down of the house. The take down is me taking all of our fall decorations and our everyday stuff down to make the house a clean slate for Friday - the BEST day of the year. As most of you know I will have my house decorated with the tree up and the pine scented candles burning just in time to watch whatever Christmas movie Dave and I choose. I know its a lot of work after getting up around 3 am to head to the stores - but I LOVE every minute of it. Oh but this year Lori wants to go to Aurora Farms Outlets, they open at midnight. We'll leave the Daddies at home with their little girls for the night and the Mom's will get our coffee and trudge out into the night. There will be no time for sleep this year - but who needs sleep, right??

Pumpkin Fun!!

Last weekend Ellie had experienced her first year of fall FUN! Friday night we went to Boo at the Zoo! Miss Ellie dressed up as a little fairy princess! It was a blast! We went with a bunch of Ellie's friends - Addy, Maddy, Mckenna, Trevor and of course O! We saw the polar bears, giraffes and the monkeys! But NO elephants! LOL! That was mine and Tom's favorite book growing up - But No Elephants. Grandma Mare said she would find the book to read to Ellie so we can continue the tradition. Another favorite book was The Monster at the End of this Book which features Grover from Sesame Street. One of my favorite memories growing up was Mom reading it to us very animated. So of course I found it at Wal Mart and read it to Ellie all the time! Ok - back to the weekend (it is so nice to reminisce) -- so Boo at the Zoo was a success! We really did try to keep 12 adults and 6 children together, but the social director (me) had to just let it go and realize that it is next to impossible! We did have fun and got some great pictures of the kids (both old and young!). It was a bummer that 1/2 the zoo is under construction, but we made it fun by checking out the High School Musical Section!!

Saturday was cousin Alyssa's first birthday! We got to hang out with all our cousins -- Miranda, Mark, Zak and of course - Alyssa the birthday girl! She had a blast mushing up her first birthday cake! It was also fun watching Tom try to put together a new toy. He said NO instructions! But about 15 minutes later he grabbed them and gave in! It's fun seeing Tom as a Dad. I can't believe how time flies and how much we have grown up. Saturday night we went back up to the bowling alley and got to hang out with Aunt Betty, Uncle Chuck, Aunt Faith and Uncle Steve! And Ashley was in town visiting too! She got to feed Ellie her dinner and then Ellie played with the Aunts!! We love going to the bowling alley and visiting on Saturdays.

Daddy had off of work on Sunday to go pick pumpkins! Once again we went with a large group of people. I don't think we are capable of going anywhere without "the crew." Well, we filled a whole hayride with the 20+ people in our group picking pumpkins! Most of Ellie's buddies were there along with all of O's cousins! It is really fun spending time with everyone. I think it is so important to get Ellie out and experience so much even though she is still young and might not realize things. Daddy picked out 2 big pumpkins and Mommy picked out a few small gourds to decorate at home! I can't wait to carve the pumpkins into jack-o-lanterns! We also bought some caramel apples and apple butter! We will definitely make Geig's Farm in Seville a yearly event!

I will email the link to everyone tomorrow of the pictures all our fun weekend events!! Walgreens makes it SO easy to send. I hope everyone enjoys the pictures and I love hearing everyone's comments on the blog!!

Next week......Halloween adventures with the Trebiskys......

4 months old!!!

Ellie is already 4 months old and had her well visit yesterday! She is 14 pounds and 24 inches long! She's in the 50th percentile for everything - including her head that was a little behind last time! The doctor said she is holding her head up very well and is doing great. After her shots we went and visited Uncle Matt who works upstairs. Uncle Matt showed her off to all the nurses while Mommy was seeing her doctor! He is such a proud uncle! Ellie is also becoming a little chatterbox! She woke her Mommy up at 4:45 on Monday morning just babbling in her crib! It is the sweetest sound. Daddy thinks that she'll end up being just like her Mommy in the talking department.....

Over the weekend we went to Medina's Fall Folilage Tour with Aunt Lori, Uncle CJ and O! What a blast we had! Ellie spend most of the day in her Snugli (which is a baby carrier pictured above that Mommy straps on to herself) and loved it! We got to see the pioneer festival and we went to a very nice winery with the best honey wine. On Sunday we spent the day with Aunt Beth and Uncle Matt! First we went to church to listen to Grandma Carol sing and then off to the Hiram Pumpkin Festival. Even though Ellie is still too young to participate there is a lot of fun stuff for kids to do! We can't wait until next year! The fun part was taking the school bus from Orange High School to the festival!! After the festival we went to the Faimans' (Matt's Mom & Dad) house for lunch where we had burgers and dogs! Ellie played with Matt & Beth's other niece Sophia. Ellie loves watching older kids play. Aunt Lori says she laughs at all the toddlers at her house every week.

This weekend coming up is Boo at the Zoo with everyone!! And then on Sunday we are all going on a hayride to pick pumpkins. From what I hear Ellie has to only pick a pumpkin as big as she can carry - luckily for her Daddy will be there to pick a big one out and carry it for her!!!

Fall...

I hope everyone is doing good and I really appreciate all the wonderful comments I get about our blog!!! I was just thinking today about how much I love Fall and now that Ellie is here with us Fall is even more exciting! There is so much to do this year! We have planned Boo at the Zoo, pumpkin picking and Halloween. We'll have to make a trip out to Mapleside, Medina and Lake Farm parks too! The possibilities are endless.....

Fall makes me think every year about change and how our lives change like the leaves. I think back to when I met Dave 7 years ago and both of our lives changed for the better. Or how we became engaged and knew that at that moment my life would change for the better once again. At our wedding when we said our vows.....and when we found out that we were pregnant with Ellie! The best days of my life were when a major change was occurring.

Ellie is also changing every day! She laughs all the time! Especially when I tickle her cheeks! She will have Mommy's chubby cheeks! LOL! Next week she will be 4 months old already and her next doctor's visit is Tuesday. I can't wait to post the update of her weight, height and all the new stuff (like cereal!) we will be trying.

Jump Around!!!

Ellie has come a long way this last week! She let out her first laugh last Saturday morning for her Mommy!! Then last night we both laughed uncontrollably at each other - I think Daddy thinks we are NUTS!!! Aunt Beth and Uncle Matt came over last Saturday and kept an eye on Ellie while I went and had my hair done. They had so much fun together! Uncle Matt put Ellie's jumparoo together and then played with Ellie in it until she fell asleep. She's still a little small for it but she's holding her head up very well!! That afternoon we went shopping with Aunt Lori and Miss O for Olivia's baptism shoes. We found out when something isn't in stock at Payless Shoes that if it is at another store you get $3 off your purchase at that store!! Just a little FYI!! Sunday was Olivia's Baptism and we got to play with Addy, Trevor, Mavrick and O!! It was a blast! The kids loved the trampoline!! I hope everyone is enjoying our family blog and we'll be sure to keep you updated!!!!!!

Colds are icky!

Ellie and I both have colds and it's not as fun for me as it is her. It's amazing how it doesn't bother her as much as it does me. She wakes up coughing or sniffling - but then she laughs and giggles. I wake up and want to go right back to bed. Maybe because I know I have to face the day ahead of me. She just faces the toys on her bouncy seat. Who knows. Let us all just hope that they go away for the weekend! We have BFF Olivia's baptism Sunday ;o)

Our Weekend!!!

We had a great weekend! Friday night we spent the evening with Grandma T, Aunt Beth, Uncle Matt and Dave's Aunt Joan and Uncle Ron from Tennessee. We went to the Mayfield game and saw Jeff play his drums! Jeff is an amazing drummer!! It was so good to see Uncle Ron and Aunt Joan - hopefully we'll be able to make it down there next Summer. Saturday morning we hung out with Lori, Olivia, Kim and Trevor at the Johnny Appleseed festival. We thought hiking down to the corn maze would be fun for the kids to play and burn off some steam, but us adults got our workout instead! We scaled the hill at Mapleside with our strollers - what a workout!! Saturday night Ellie and I went to the bowling alley where we visited my Uncle Steve, Aunt Faith, Uncle Chuck and Aunt Betty - who bowl in a league every other Saturday. Ellie loved the lights at the bowling alley and had so much fun playing with my Aunts. Dave met up with us after work and we ate dinner. We'll have to go up and visit again soon - my philly cheesteak was AWESOME!! On Sunday Ellie and I went to church and Ellie smiled at all the little old men. They love talking to Ellie every Sunday! Later on that day we went to Kristen's house for her birthday dinner. We saw Kim, Rob, Addy, Jamie, Jeff, Aunt Michelle, Uncle Tim and Lesia! We watched the Browns get the heck kicked out of them!!! At least Dave wasn't there to see it. Now I think Miss Ellie is getting a cold. She started coughing this morning. I hope everything clears up for this weekend - Olivia's Baptism!!

It's all about the hand....

Ellie's first pictures went well. Not great - but well. Our precious little girl who giggled at her Daddy and laughed the 1/2 hour before her pictures found her hand. Yep - that hand must have been the most exciting thing in that room, not the photographer, not the daddy or the mommy, not even the toys or the bear. It was all about her hand. I read earlier this week that babies start discovering hands around 3 months. Daddy called me yesterday and said that Ellie was grasping and punching (watch out Miss O!) her toys on her rocking seat yesterday!! I was SO excited! Until we got her into the portrait studio - then the hand became the obsession. Don't get me wrong - we got some cute pictures, but I think things would have gone smoother if she wasn't trying to look at her hand! I hopefully will get the link to the pictures for eveyone to view later today!

Here are some awesome lyrics that Kristen emailed to me today. I so think of Ellie and how she loves to put her hand on her forehead when I'm rocking her to sleep and spits out her binkie when she's finally sleeping....

Three a.m. on the clock
Lullaby, music box
Oh, baby please don't cry
Let's let mama sleep tonight
You've only been home one day
You don't even know your name
Tiny hand on my cheek
Youre a miracle to me
In the still ness of the night
Cradled in this rocking chair
I hold all my hopes and dreams,
Every single answered prayer
In my arms
Wish I could hold you forever
In my arms
I will give you shelter
Still I know I can't always be there
To protect you from this great big old world
But I swear this much is true
There'll always be a place for you...in my arms
As I watch you take each breath
Oh, it scares me to death
To know you're counting on me
To be the daddy that you need
Wounded knees, broken hearts
Learning how to drive a car
When it's time for your first date
Will I know just what to say
And when you find that one true love
I'll put on my best smile
And I'll try to hide my tears
As I walk you down the aisle
In my arms
Wish I could hold you forever
In my arms
I will give you shelter
Still I know I can't always be there
To protect you from this great big old world
But I swear this much is true
There'll always be a place for you...in my arms
Oh, this promise I will keep
As you finally fall asleep...in my arms

The first 3 months....

Well the first 3 months of Ellie's life have passed and we are starting to hit milestones. Her first smile and her first laugh were amazing!! Now she is starting to hold her head up!! Her 3 month pictures are this Thursday and I can't wait to show everyone. Her 6 month pictures will be her Christmas pictures!!!
Everything else has been going good. Mommy is back at work and it feels like I never left. Dave is back in school too! We are on the countdown until May of 2009 when he graduates. We will have one heck of a party to Celebrate. Ellie is hanging out with the Grandma's and Aunt Lori during the week. She loves Aunt Lori's house and watching all the other kids play!!
We are looking forward to the fall!! Next weekend we are planning to go to the Johnny Appleseed festival with Kim and Trevor. Then we are going to Boo at the Zoo with all of Ellie's friends in October. We plan on picking pumkins and going trick or treating too! Fall festivities are always Mommy's favorites! Then comes Christmas....

The Baptism...

Well it came and went. Once again the weather didn't cooperate! It rained from the moment we walked out of the church until everyone left our home. Once people ate and left the sun came out. But all negative weather comments aside - the ceremony was beautiful!!!! Ellie slept through everything and looked gorgeous in Addison's gown! We are so happy to have Baptised our little girl and to have chosen the perfect Godparents - thank you Lori and CJ!!

Ellie's 2 Month Well Visit!!

We took Ellie to see Dr. Wasserman yesterday morning! She is doing VERY good! She now weighs 11 pounds, 3 ounces and is 21 inches long. She's in the 50th percentile for her wight and length, but her head is still in the 20th percentile! She is very alert and holds her head up extremely well. She did very good with her shots and only cried for a minute. I cried a little bit too - but I know how important it is for her to be vaccinated. We also started putting Ellie into her bumbo seat yesterday and she LOVES it! (thank you so much Jacki!). I will post the picture of her in it as soon as I can. Well we are off to enjoy the rest of our last week off of work! Everyone please say a prayer that it doesn't rain on Sunday!!!!!!!!

Our summer in a nutshell....

We have been home now for 2 months and Ellie's favorite thing to do is shop and spend time with BFF Olivia! She will be hanging out with Olivia 2 days a week once Dave and I return to work and school. We've enjoyed being off of work, but know that we need to return to our normal lives. Dave has spent his time off of school golfing and has enjoyed every minute of it! We also went to Cedar Point with the Moats family along with a day trip to their camper in Andover. We also have spent time visiting with all of our family!!! We get to see both Grandma's at least once a week and also Grandpa Mike made it home for a visit with Miss Ellie!!! Now that summer is coming to a close we will have many more exciting things to blog about. Next weekend is Ellie's Baptism at St. Francis De Sales and we can't wait for everyone to see her again. Then that week is the big return to work for me and to school for Dave. This is the beginning of his last year of nursing school! We have made it this far and there is just one more year to go!!

Hello all! This will be our first "blog" as the Trebisky family! I figured this would be a good way to keep people entertained with our family antics and also updated with our lives as hectic as they are.

I am going to regress to June 17, 2008. The day we brought our daughter Elizabeth Anne into the world. She don't look too happy in that picture - but little did she know how happy she would soon be coming home with her Mommy and Daddy (oh and meeting Rosie too!). After 19 hours of labor at Fairview Hospital she was born at 9:12 pm. It was quite an experience and we were blessed with how nice the staff at Fairview was. Ellie came home at 5 pounds 12 ounces and started gaining weight right away. Her first doctor's appointment a week later she was back above 6 pounds.
