Long time no blog! HA! I just had to say it. Things have been busy as usual at the Trebisky household. So I need to play catch up on our last few weeks! We had a wonderful Halloween! I still can't believe how the weather agreed with us that night. Dave stayed back with CJ and passed out candy (and started the bonfire...) while I took Ellie Trick Or Treating with Lori, Olivia, Kristen & Addy. When we got back we had a houseful! Kim & Rob came over along with Cathy & Scott! Joe and Jenny stopped by with Rachel for a little bit too! All of the kiddies looked adorable! O was a ladybug and Addy was a High School Musical cheerleader. Ellie was just dressed in her pumpkin onsie and I carried her in the Snugli around the neighborhood. I had to laugh because we came home with as much candy as I hoped to pass out! Oh well - Mom and Dad got some good eats! The funniest part of the night is how Dave convinced Addison that anything that looked like a Milky Way was bad for her. She believed him and picked them all out to give to Dave. LOL!!
So now we are 2 weeks into November! All the Halloween decorations have been put away and we pulled out the Pilgrims and turkeys. Dave is still busy with school but is nearing the end of his longest semester ever!! He has his practicum - which is working 24 hours a week for free. It's really learning from a nurse, but it's unpaid. Plus his normal 36 hour work week - things are hectic. He only has one more day left of his practicum and then things slow down until January. Then the countdown begins - 16 weeks he will be done and be able to take his nursing exam! I am sure I will be throwing a huge party to congratulate him this summer!
We also found out we had what they call a "confused flour bug" - and I shouldn't say "had"since it seems like they never go away. I spent a whole vacation day pulling everything out of my cupboards and bleaching. Then I read that these things might take time to go away. They are very little black bugs that come in from something at the store. I guess they have distroyed flour mills before. All I know is that now EVERYTHING from cereal and oatmeal and flour and breadcrumbs go into plastic containers. I had to throw out all my baking goods! UGH!
This Saturday Lori and I are taking Ellie and O to get pictures with Santa at JC Penny's and then I am going to come home to work on pumpkin rolls! Dave found 3 cans of pumpkin and asked when I was making my famous (ok - I like to think that they are famous...) pumpkin rolls. My boss Al also mentioned baking something to bring in too! So I am going to try to knock out a few on Saturday. Sunday we are taking Grandma T to the Fabulous Food Show for her birthday and then it's Kim's birthday dinner! Dave is off Sunday so it will be an extra special weekend for me and Ellie!
Thanksgiving is right around the corner and it is Dave's Holiday to work at the hospital. But we will give up Thanksgiving for him to be home for Ellie's first Christmas! Ellie and I will spend the afternoon at Grandma Mare's house! Grandpa Mike will be home for the Holiday too! Of course we will wake up and watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade and do the traditional take down of the house. The take down is me taking all of our fall decorations and our everyday stuff down to make the house a clean slate for Friday - the BEST day of the year. As most of you know I will have my house decorated with the tree up and the pine scented candles burning just in time to watch whatever Christmas movie Dave and I choose. I know its a lot of work after getting up around 3 am to head to the stores - but I LOVE every minute of it. Oh but this year Lori wants to go to Aurora Farms Outlets, they open at midnight. We'll leave the Daddies at home with their little girls for the night and the Mom's will get our coffee and trudge out into the night. There will be no time for sleep this year - but who needs sleep, right??
